A Visit from Grandma and Grandpa Neal

Grandma (NoNo) and Grandpa (Pop-Pop) Neal came to visit us this past weekend. It was a beautifully sunny and warm autumn weekend. We spent time in the Mad River Valley together on Saturday. On Sunday we just relaxed at home in more sunshine!

Lucy wouldn't look at the camera for us!

I love how tiny Sander looks in this photo. Such a peanut!
This is an example of how Sander rarely stays on his activity mat. Usually I find him rolling toward legs of chairs or other pieces of furniture or face down on the floor drooling and smiling. He is such a funny little guy and ends up scratching at new textures and such when he finishes rolling,  wherever he ends up.

Fall Family Fun

Our morning view during breakfast.
It has been a beautiful fall and we have been very busy doing things together.
Day after day has brought sunshine, warmth and stunning colors. All we want to do is be outside!

My view of Sander while wearing him in the ergo (on our property).
To celebrate my 36th birthday I decided I wanted all of us to go apple picking together at Shelburne Orchards. It was so much fun. We picked 50lbs of apples in no time! Lucy loved picking apples and almost couldn't stop. Our bags were full.

Orchard eating.

My loves.
Lucy pleased with the day.
Late night applesauce making together. Smiling and having fun with mama.
The next day we went to the property to keep Matt company and do a little bit of work.

My first time wearing Sander on my back. Work had to be done on the property.
I moved and hauled 8 carts of wood chips and little people too. It was a fun day.
Sander relaxing on the property during lunch.
It is pumpkin patch season and being the nerd that I am, we just had to go to a pumpkin patch with our little ones. It was a small, quiet and simple farm with an antique tractor hayride.

Lucy loved the hayride. She chose this pumpkin out of the patch.
Matt and Lucy in pumpkin land.
Sander enjoyed the hayride too.

A Lovely Treasure

Auntie Jenny made this absolutely gorgeous sweater for little Sander. It fits him perfectly as we head into fall weather. I think he looks like a little root child out of a book by Sibylle von Olfers.

The Sweetness of Four Months Old!

This little guy makes my heart melt.
So Sander has reached what I believe to be a very delightful age of 4 months old. It's so fun right now! He can't crawl or speak, doesn't have teeth coming in, and he is so full of giggles and cuteness that it hurts sometimes.  For instance, he'll be crying or pouting (you know that pout) while putting him in his car seat because he still has a huge aversion to it and then instantly laughing and cooing after I smile and tell him it's going to be OK, we just have a short drive. He started laughing over and over again tonight after I gave him a bath and was rubbing coconut oil all over him. It was so darn cute! He's a truly happy little guy. Oh and he weighs abut 11 lb 13 oz now and is 24" long with a head circumference of 16". Official weigh in is next week.
Update: at 4 months and 10 days Sander weighs 12 pounds 2oz and is 25" long! Head is 16".

He breaks into giggles and laughs so often.
Classic.
Well, if this isn't a good place to lounge in the evening...

Tunbridge World's Fair!

We are on that ferris wheel somewhere!

We spent the day at the Tunbridge World's Fair on Sunday and it was so much fun! Sander went on the ferris wheel with us, on the carousel, and he enjoyed looking at all the farm animals.

My loves.
Lucy loved petting these gals.
Silly cows.

Boston

So we made a trip down to Boston and had a blast. We had a Red Sox game to go to with Pop-Pop and a wedding to attend as well. We all stayed at Uncle Chris's. I am so sad to realize I never got any photos of Uncle Chris with Sander. I suppose we had a busy week galavanting and he had to work during the days we were there. Also, the night we went to the wedding was the very first time I left Sander for any period of time! Grandma Nono came up to babysit and darn, no photos of her with the little guy either...Sander was fast asleep when we got home from the wedding and all was calm. Good job Nono!

Sander's and Lucy's first subway ride.
Out to dinner pre-game with Pop-Pop.
Dada and Sander.
Pop-Pop walks proudly with little Sander.
Sander is quite content on Pop-Pop's shoulder, always.
Heading toward the stadium.
Here we are! At our first Sox same together.
Lucy taking it all in.
Sander snuggled right in and had a good night.
Heading to Spectacle Island together.
Sander snuggled up and Lucy loving the boat ride.
It was a little chilly on the way out due to wind and the overcast skies.
Lucy LOVES boats, planes, and trains.
