Our Baby Boy Turns One!

Already! Our sweet Sander is one. He is such a sensitive little guy and so active. He can't decide if he wants to be held all the time or crawl and scale walls. He has been walking holding into things and getting around quite well. Sander has been doing yoga down dogs and looking between his legs while laughing hysterically. This is definitely my favorite trick of his.  It is even better when his sister joins in and we all hurt from laughing afterward. While there are no new exact words such as his "Da-Da" and "Ma-Ma" he has been saying "Deh" and pointing to the dogs when they are around. It is pretty cute.

He weighs in at 15 pounds 6 ounces and is 29" tall. Long and lean!
Lucy had just gotten over the chicken pox just in time for Sander's 1st birthday bash. Nono and Pop-pop came up to celebrate. We had a good time.

Mama and the birthday boy.
Dada and the birthday boy with sun in his eyes.
These two!

Lucy spent some time pulling Sander around in a sled in the yard. He giggled and love it. They even went downhill.
Always tapping on things these days.

Playing put-the-rock-in-the-hole together. This actually lasted about ten minutes!

Ten Months Old and Cruisin'

Is someone teething?
Sander got a his first shiner just in time for his ten-month-old photo.
Sander crawls so fast and with such determination these days. If he is interrupted he is not too pleased. The funny thing is I don't even know which fall or bonk caused his black eye. The little guy is fearless. I believe part of it is that he wants to keep up with Lucy.

Lucy enjoys reading to Sander.
Sander tries to get at the pages, he gets excited by all the animals.
She really enjoys being able to do things for Sander.
We went to visit Uncle Chris in Boston for a few days while Dada stayed behind to get some work done. It was a lot of fun. The car ride actually went really well and I had a relaxing trip down there with happy kids in the back seat, amazing.

Waiting for Uncle Chris to get home!

Sander's first time on a swing. He loved it!
Lucy is in the background way up in the air.
Swinging is so much fun.
Lucy drew a portrait of Sander on the fridge at home.
We had a much needed family day together a few days later and we all went swimming. Sander had SO much fun. This baby is definitely not afraid of the water!

Family swim day.
He's kicking so much and bouncing and splashing.

Little Man is Three Months Old

Our little cutie.
Sander now weighs 10lbs 14.5 oz and continues to be a tiny, cute, and alert little baby with a heart-melting smile. He's only in the 6th percentile for his age, yep, we make small babies.

Sander has been enjoying bedtime reading with dad and Lucy.
Sander's first outdoor concert: VT Philharmonic pops.
Enjoying the late afternoon sunshine.
Sander has been petting Oliver when he snuggles up to us.
Hands in the mouth all the time these days!

Lovely Lina and Sander.
Siblings.
Sweetness.

Happy Two Months Old!

The two month old hard at work growing and growing.
At nine weeks Sander weighs 9lbs 15.5oz and is in the 11th percentile for his age.
He is 23" long and his head measures 15.5"
He's tiny!

Sander prefers to be wrapped up and close to mama, though it is hard in the heat and humidity this summer!

Six weeks old today!

We have a happy little guy!
Sweet Sander.
Sander now weighs about 9 1/2 pounds and his hair keeps getting lighter and lighter. While these photos don't do them justice, he has beautiful light blue eyes! We wonder if they will stay.
Sander is definitely happiest right on mama's chest when sleeping (he wakes if I put him down) and doesn't care to be put in his swing or bouncy seat very often. This means he gets tons of kisses and snuggles from his mama all day long, though it is a little hard to be so close all the time in the heat and humidity!

All dressed up for the "Not Quite Independence Day Parade" in Waterbury.
Waiting for the start of the parade.
Sander, Mama, and Lucy taking a break while the parade marches by.

Weeks Two and Three

2 weeks old
Sander has been gaining weight like a champ! Today, at three weeks old, he weighs in at 8 lbs 4oz. He has already gained 1 1/2 pounds since his birth weight! I am not surprised since I am the one feeding him so many times around the clock. The boy likes to eat.

We had a hard week since we discovered that Sander had an upper lip tie and a tongue tie. After a lot of reading, we realized this was the root cause of his abdominal discomfort since was gulping in so much air at every feed due to a bad latch. Sander went to a specialist in NH who lasered these ties for him and we are very happy with the results. It was a simple process followed by relaxing craniosacral therapy, which we will continue weekly for awhile as Sander's tongue muscles learn to adjust to their newfound freedom.

Lucy asks to hold Sander many times every day!
Lucy continues to love Sander to bits and pieces. She wants to be a part of almost all of his activities. It is adorable. He learned how to grab small things with his fist this past week and she really enjoys having him hold her finger - it brings her so much joy. Lucy has given Sander a few nicknames. Our favorite is "Zapizoid"...who knows where it came from but it is pretty funny. She calls him "little man" most often.

Morning snuggle time is the best ever, period.
Sander's handsome profile, in camo.
Sander's first real bath at 2.5 weeks old.
Lucy was very willing to lend a hand.
Happy after his warm bath!
3 weeks old and working hard at it.
